Gross pay vs net pay

Your net pay (also called take-home pay) is what actually hits your bank account after all deductions. Pay frequency: why the math looks different

US companies pay on different schedules: - Bi-weekly (every two weeks, 26 paychecks per year): most common - Semi-monthly (twice a month, usually 1st and 15th, 24 paychecks per year) - Weekly (52 paychecks per year) - Monthly (12 paychecks per year): less common in the US
